More Blog Buzz Over Rasmussen Poll

Following up on the outstanding 4 point margin shown in the Rasmussen Poll earlier this week, here is yet more online buzz about the changing tide in the Texas Senate race.

Burka Blog: Is Rasmussen Right?

…I think that some realignment is taking place, both in Texas and nationally… Texas is not immune from national trends, and the wind is definitely blowing in the Democrats’ direction… If Democrats can continue to be motivated into the fall, yes, I can see Noriega being very competitive in this race.

According to Rasmussen, Cornyn is vulnerable in the upcoming November election

Dallas Blog: Rasmussen Says Cornyn Vulnerable

Texas Democrats are basking in the latest state polls from Rasmussen that suggest Sen. John Cornyn is vulnerable and Democrats could be competitive statewide this fall.

Down with Tyranny: Texans Have Woken Up

Cornyn in way at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to voting records– more extreme than anyone else in the Senate except two or three lunatic fringe Republicans.

Things, they are a-changing!

In a sign that the Senate Republicans could be in danger in even states usually deemed safe for them, a new Rasmussen poll of Texas finds that Sen. John Cornyn (R) could very well have a race on his hands against Democrat Rick Noriega.

Texas Liberal

This time around, it may be that some Texans are reconsidering allegiance to Republican party ( As well they should.) and that demographic changes in this majority-minority state are finally catching up to the ballot box.

Needless to say, this is still early, but it does show that Texans have had their fill of Cornyn and are looking for an alternative.

Filibuster Vigilantly

Watch your back Cornyn. Texas might have an early retirement plan in mind for you. And now the big announcement: FV is today officially declaring for Rick Noriega for United States Senate!

Texas Law Chick

Seeing a poll like this, with so much time to go to get Rick’s name and accomplishments out, gives me some hope that this state really is ready for change.

Mike Engelhart

Here in Texas, it is becoming clear that the entire state is becoming disenchanted with the Republican Party.

American Nonsense

If the poll is accurate, it’s fantastic news for Democrats.

The Local Crank

Given that Rasmussen has always had a tendency to skew Republican, this is potentially very explosive stuff.

Jobsanger

This should worry the hell out of Cornyn.

This is very encouraging news indeed. But I hope that Texas Democrats aren’t “basking” but gearing up to replace one of the worst and most hypocritical Senators on veterans issues. I was part of the first wave of enlistees in the volunteer Army way back when. I’m appalled at the way John Cornyn refuses to “support the troops” with anything other than glib sloganeering. His votes are appalling.

I’m not a Texan, but I’m pulling for you. I know the Lone Star state can do much better than Dick Armey, Tom DeLay, John Cornyn, and All-Hat-No-Cattle Dubya. Heck, y’all gave us Ann and Molly. Now give the Senate a good man.

This is the best news I’ve seen all week.
